Identify the surfaces that need treatment
A site assessment should distinguish vehicle lanes, parking areas, loading approaches and pedestrian routes. Mark slopes, shaded sections and places where water collects or crosses the pavement. These details help define the agreed salting areas and the questions to address before service begins.
Why surface conditions matter
Material selection and application depend on the pavement conditions and the product being used. Air temperature alone does not describe every surface on a property. A shaded entrance and an exposed parking area can behave differently, so a single coverage figure should not be treated as a universal application instruction.
Combine clearing with ice management
Removing accumulated snow and treating residual ice serve different purposes. A proposal can include truck plowing, pedestrian clearing and salting, with each scope made explicit. Tell us if another contractor handles part of the work so the responsibilities can be coordinated.
What is included in a salting quote?
The area to treat, access arrangements, product requirements and agreed treatment conditions are reviewed for the property. Pricing depends on the site and scope. Request a written proposal so you can see what is included and what would count as additional work.
Can we request salting and sidewalk service together?
Yes. Include both services in your enquiry and identify the pedestrian routes separately from the vehicle areas. Entrances, stairs and narrow paths can require a different approach from a truck-accessible parking lot.
How do we arrange service for 2026/27?
Send your property address and contact information through the quote form, then describe the surfaces and services required. AIM will review the request and confirm the proposed scope and route availability. Submitting a request does not by itself reserve service.
